What is the registration process?
What are all the dance forms you teach?
We are a dedicated Tango Dance Academy, with Tango at the heart of our practice and pedagogy.
For those curious about other Latin styles, we offer a beginner-level course that introduces the foundational elements of Dominican Bachata and Merengue.
What is Tango?
Tango is a dance of connection and improvisation, where partners move in harmony to create a unique story with every embrace.
Originating in Buenos Aires, it blends cultural influences with deep emotional expression. With no fixed patterns, it is a conversation of movement, guided by music and mutual understanding – a true dance of the heart.
Can I attend a trial class before enrolling?
Yes, you can! Join one of our introductory workshops before the new batch begins to get a glimpse of Tango. Alternatively, you can register for a session in our ongoing batch and experience the magic of Tango firsthand.
Details about upcoming classes can be found here.
Do I require prior experience in dancing?
Not at all! Most of our students start with no prior dance experience, so there is no need to worry.
Our instructor’s innovative teaching methods make learning smooth and enjoyable. You can confidently start from scratch with our well-structured, beginner-friendly classes.
I don't have a dance partner. Is it possible to join alone?
Absolutely. While bringing a partner is encouraged, it is not mandatory. Our batches are role-balanced, not pair-dependent – so registering solo is perfectly fine.
We do limit individual registrations to maintain class balance, so early registration is essential:
- Single men must join the waitlist. This is currently the only way to secure a spot. Add your email address to the waitlist on the product listing page for your desired batch or workshop. You will be notified automatically when a spot opens.
→ Important: Receiving a notification does not guarantee a spot. If offered one, please act promptly. Missing the response window will result in removal from the waiting list without reminders. - Single women may register directly, but last-minute sign-ups often destabilize batch planning. Please register at least:
- 2–3 weeks in advance for regular batches
- 10–12 days before for workshops
We rotate partners in class to help everyone explore both lead and follow roles, regardless of gender. This deepens learning and reflects the spirit of Tango as a social dance. Group classes are designed for shared participation. If you are seeking exclusivity, please book a private session instead.
We aim for a balanced lead-follow ratio, but it cannot always be guaranteed. Timely registration helps us coordinate better. Registering with a partner is strongly advised.
Is pre-registration required?
Yes. Balanced batches depend on early registration, especially given ongoing gender ratio challenge (currently skewed 4:1, men to women).
- Single men must join the waitlist. If a spot is offered, please respond promptly – missed windows will result in removal from waiting list without reminders.
- Single women: we have observed a pattern of last-minute sign-ups. Our registration system doesn’t support that. Please aim to register:
- 2–3 weeks in advance for regular batches
- 10–12 days in advance for workshops
Pre-registration isn’t just logistical – it’s a gesture of mutual respect. It allows us to create an equitable learning space for everyone.
Is there an age limit?
What do I wear to class?
No specific dance wear or shoes are required to start these classes.
Simply wear comfortable clothes. Any smooth-soled, narrow shoes, socks, or even jazz shoes will work perfectly.
If you prefer wearing shoes during the session, please ensure they are clean and change into them after arriving at the studio.
Location of the class?
Koramangala: Studio is near Koramangala Club
Indiranagar: Studio is near BSNL office
Jayanagar: Studio is near 5th block
Exact location will be shared with registered participants a day before the class via WhatsApp.
Revealing the venue ahead of time has increasingly become a concern. To protect the safety and privacy of our academy, we share the address only with registered participants. We appreciate your understanding and your support of this boundary.
How frequently do batches start?
We launch a new batch every month.
Can I join a batch after it has started?
What if I miss a class?
If you miss a class, please note that refunds (full or partial) or compensation, such as extended classes, are not provided. However, you have several options to make up for missed classes:
- Review the content of the previous class at the beginning of the next session.
- Attend one class at another venue during your subscription period, subject to availability.
- Seek assistance from senior dancers, who are always available to help you catch up.
- Consider opting for the “All-inclusive Improvers Subscription” once you complete your beginner’s course. This pass allows you to revisit the beginner’s course while attending your improvers’ class, making it a great way to revise the entire batch.
- If you miss more than three classes, we encourage booking a one-on-one session to review the material and stay on track.
Will I get a certificate at the end of batch?
In the world of tango, mastery is not measured by certificates but by the ability to connect with one’s partner and the music.
The essence of tango cannot be encapsulated by a certificate or a piece of paper.

For a holistic and comprehensive learning experience, establishing a foundational base in partner dancing is essential. This foundation is common across all partner dance styles.
Even if you have attended classes or workshops for some of these dance styles elsewhere, we recommend starting with this course. Our instructor’s unique and innovative teaching method simplifies learning recurring steps, ensuring fast and effective mastery in one go.
Concerned about juggling multiple dance styles?
You don’t need to worry – they complement and reinforce one another.
For instance, a technique learned in one style might initially seem challenging, but insights gained from another dance could make it click. There is a significant overlap in steps and techniques, with plenty of cross-pollination among the styles.
While the application of movements varies depending on the rhythm, certain dances can help build confidence, enhance body awareness, and improve alignment. It also makes music, beats, and rhythms more accessible.
Ultimately, this course provides you with a well-rounded foundation, enabling holistic learning and preparing you to specialize in any of these dance forms later.
After finishing this 3-month course, you can join improvers classes focused on specific dance styles to deepen your learning and skills.
