Etiquette
At Bangalore Tango Academy, we operate as an educational institution rather than a commercial service business.
Our focus is on education, growth, and fostering a deep appreciation for Tango. We expect our students to adhere to certain etiquette guidelines that enhance their Tango journey and contribute to a thriving, respectful, and vibrant Tango community.
- Be Punctual: Arrive a few minutes early to class to ensure you are ready to start on time. Punctuality shows respect for your instructor and fellow dancers.
- Stay Present: Focus on the class and avoid speaking during the session. Staying present ensures you absorb the material and respect the learning environment.
- Engage Actively: Participate fully in discussions and practice sessions. Do not hesitate to ask questions. Inquiring about techniques and concepts helps deepen your understanding and improves your skills.
- Attendance: Please do not miss classes unless you are unwell. Consistent attendance is crucial for your progress.
- Personal Hygiene: Ensure a pleasant experience for everyone by maintaining good personal hygiene. This includes wearing clean clothing, using mouth freshener, and applying deodorant.
- Respectful Behaviour: We hold polite, professional, and considerate communication in high regard across all channels, whether in person, on the dance floor, or via digital chat. Our administrative team works hard to keep operations running smoothly, and we ask that all interactions remain mutually courteous and professional at all times.
- Maintaining Balance: We aim to keep an even balance of leads and follows in our classes, though it can’t always be guaranteed. To enrich the experience for everyone, we suggest bringing a partner.
- Class Commitment: Your presence is vital to the group dynamic. Last-minute absences directly disrupt the lead-follow balance and inconvenience your fellow dancers, so we ask that you treat your registration as a reliable commitment to the community floor.
